During the Hanseatic Days in Tartu visitors of all ages will experience the colourful and merry market atmosphere. The city will also see a visit from the spirit of the Hanseatic era who is full of surprises. For two days the city centre will become a place where visitors can taste dishes made from local ingredients, learn new skills, attend both spontaneous and scheduled concerts, and enjoy themselves in the company of friends, be they grown-ups or children.
In 2017 the festivities will take place in Tartu on 8–9 July.
As always, this is an event for the entire family!
For music lovers there are concerts in the town hall square and elsewhere in the city centre. Our smallest visitors can enjoy themselves in the entertaining Lastelinn (the Children’s Town) in Toomemägi. Likewise, science aficionados are welcome in Toomemägi as it is also where Teaduslinn (the Science Town) will be set up with much to explore and discover. Those interested in old vintage and classic cars and technology should head in the direction of the river and Tasku Centre where they will find Raualinn (the Iron Town).
The big Hanseatic Fair in the heart of the city will no doubt provide you with things you have long been looking for as well as with many mouth-watering market goods.
Registration of traders will begin at 10 on 25 April 2017.
To register you will need to follow a link that will be made available on the website of the Tartu Hanseatic Days.
