For the second year in a row, there is reason to go up the Toome Hill during the Hanseatic Days, since the Science Town will be waiting there. The Town that offered various workshops and activities last year is open from July 20 to 22.
The goal of this Town, organised by the University of Tartu History Museum, is to offer attractive and fun activities and introduce Estonia as an innovative small country that values research and scientific heritage. Residents and guests of Tartu will have a chance to learn about the greatest achievements in Estonian science history and lives of scientists through participatory activities.
The Science Town has two focal points: the area around the Observatory will host activities related more or less to physics, while other fields of science and various Estonian museums will reside around the Dome Church. At the same time, all museums on Toome Hill will be open (University of Tartu History Museum, Dome Church’s towers, Observatory).
Science Town is open:
Friday, 20 July – 12.30-18.00
Saturday, 21 July – 11.00-20.00
Sunday, 22 July – 11.00-17.00
